040: Consider “Oh, Well.”

23 Jan 2018

A “stuck” story takes place either in the past or the future.

That’s where our stories live.

Regarding a story that has already taken place, whether it was a second ago, 5 minutes ago, yesterday, last month, or last year, what is key to understand is that the circumstance already happened.

It’s in the past.

And there’s nothing we can do to change the past.

Which leaves you with two choices:

  1. Stay stuck on the story (think about it, harp on it, create more layers of story around it, get more emotional about it, and suffer), or
  2. Manage your reaction to it.

The path to emotional health and well-being is to do the latter.

Tune in to hear how I considered, “Oh, Well,” after realizing the circumstance was in the past and out of my control. Listen closely to how I managed my mind.

Can you consider “Oh, Well” the next time you get stuck in something that has already occurred?

I’d love to hear from you if you do!
